FAQ · Pre-flight briefing
Questions, answered straight.
01Do you come to my hangar?
Yes. SriAero is fully mobile. We come to your private hangar, shared hangar or FBO and bring our own equipment and products. For wet washes we'll confirm water access and drainage with you or the facility first; in most hangars we use our waterless method, which needs neither.
02Which airports do you serve?
We regularly work at Calgary International (CYYC), Springbank (CYBW), Okotoks (CFX2), High River (CEN4), Olds-Didsbury (CEA3) and Red Deer Regional (CYQF). Other Alberta airports and travel across Western Canada are available. Ask, and we'll quote travel separately.
03How long does a detail take?
It depends on the aircraft and the scope. A maintenance wash on a single-engine piston can be done in a few hours; a full exterior correction and ceramic coating on a large-cabin jet can take several days. We'll give you a time estimate with your quote and plan around your schedule, including overnight work.
04Are your products safe for my aircraft?
We use products formulated for aircraft: cleaners and polishes suited to aircraft paint, aluminium and acrylic, and interior products compatible with certified cabin materials. We mask sensitive areas such as pitot-static ports and vents, follow your manufacturer's guidance where it exists, and will happily share product information with your maintenance provider.
05How often should I detail my aircraft?
As a starting point, most aircraft benefit from an exterior wash every two to six weeks depending on use, with protection refreshed every few months, and a deep interior detail once or twice a year. Aircraft that live outside, fly into gravel or salt, or carry passengers often need more. A recurring plan keeps it predictable.
06What's the difference between wax and ceramic coating?
Wax and sealants sit on top of the paint and give good gloss and protection for weeks to months. A ceramic coating chemically bonds to the surface and lasts considerably longer, with stronger resistance to UV, exhaust staining and chemicals, which makes every wash afterwards easier. Coatings need proper preparation and cure time, so they cost more up front.
07Do you work in winter?
Yes, all year. In winter we work inside heated hangars, mostly with waterless and low-moisture methods. Late fall is the best time for protection before the cold sets in, and spring is the time to remove de-icing fluid residue, sand and grime.
08How is pricing determined?
Pricing depends on aircraft size and type, current condition, the services you choose, location and scheduling (for example overnight work). We quote a fixed price for an agreed scope after reviewing photos or a quick walkaround, so there are no surprises. Recurring and fleet programs are priced per visit.
